Yes, I am still alive!

  • Feb. 10th, 2008 at 1:58 AM

Wow! I can't believe I haven't updated this since November. It is now February, and I don't know where the time has gone!

A whole lot has happened since then, but overall things are getting a lot better. My course load this semester is not quite as intense as last semester, though I still have taken up residency in the library/lab. For instance, today I spent 5 hours in the anatomy lab -- but honestly, it was SO much fun. I love going into the lab on the weekend because basically no one is there and you're free to study any of the specimens. My friend and I went in to study together, and then we eventually ended up at his house playing GuitarHero. I'm seriously in love with that game!! I'm a bit of a dork, clearly... ;)

I watched a really cool movie tonight called "Across the Universe". I looooove the Beatles, and it was a movie based around there music. One or two of the scenes were extremely weird, but over all I absolutely loved it!

Valentine's Day is coming up!! I have three midterms that day, but I am oddly looking forward to it nonetheless! <3 Even just for the cinnamon hearts...

I am 3/4 done a new chapter for "Paparazi", and I'm hoping to post it asap. I was a little unsure as to where to take that story, but things are all falling into place now. I feel so horrible that I haven't updated in so long! Also, I've started 4 new stories. I think I will finish them before I post them, so that I don't keep up this horribe habit of not updating for chunks of time. One of them I'm really excited about...

I would love to continue, but I think I really have to get some sleep. The only things running through my mind right now are Beatles lyrics and the articulations of the muscles in the lower limb...

sartorious, gracilis, biceps femoris, semitendinosus, semimembranosus, vastus medialis, adductor magnus, adductor longus...... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

haha goodnight!!

Hello again...

  • Nov. 12th, 2007 at 1:39 AM

Hmmm well there goes the whole "I'm going to write on LJ everyday" thing... whops

Things have been kind of crazy between school and personal stuff. It's hard to believe that it's already mid-November -- the time has certainly flown! Today wasn't really a very eventful day... I spent most of it working at the library, and then went out for coffee again with this guy I met in England. He's really nice and we have tons in common, so we've really hit it off!

I had a hilarious phone conversation today with Willi and Loony! It was so funny because I didn't want to be too loud in the library so I was sitting outside on a bench freezing to death, but I was so focused on our conversation (read: LAUGHING) that I hardly noticed! Oh how I love my Anti-Boneyard ladies...

Then I went on my Sunday-evening-fanfic-binge session... oh how glorious.... there's no better way to end a weekend than by reading so much fanfic your eyes start to dry up. ;) Speaking of fanfiction, I finished my story "Connection" the other day! It took me a while to finish it, but I was pretty satisfied by the ending. It was soooo much fun to write! Next on my list is the concluding chapters for "A Lesson in Anthropology". Siiiigh. I don't want to end it, but I know I have to! I wrote out a basic shell of how the ending will work, but now it's just for me to sit down and actually WRITE it. Hopefully inspiration will hit soon!
I have this odd tendency to write my best stuff when I'm procrastinating/stressed with school work. I don't know why, but writing fanfic is just SO much more alluring when there's a billion other things to be doing! haha!

Time to hit the sheets! Haha more on my not-so-exciting life soon! ;)

Inspiration hits hard...

  • Oct. 22nd, 2007 at 6:55 PM

 Hellooooooooo....

So today was a pretty good day! I passed in two term papers and if felt soooo freaking good to get them out of my hands. I hate having stuff hang over my head like that, so it's nice to be done with those two. Unfortunately I still have the hardest one left to write... it's for one of my international politics classes and it has something to do with realism and the Iraq war. Honestly, I don't even get the topic... haha I'll just treat it like a fanfic and pretend that I'm enjoying myself while I'm writing it! It'll get done eventually!

Holy mother... speaking of fanfic!! So today I was driving home and all of a sudden a new idea for a story hit me like a TON OF BRICKS! (I never really understood that expression... but let's just say that it came to me suddenly... haha). Anyway, now it's all I can think of and I'm basically dying to start it. The thing is though, I have two stories on the go right now and I'm having trouble updating those two regularly as it is! I think I'll just scribble down the basics and hopefully I won't forget everything when it comes time to dredge that idea up from the depths of my little mind. Anyway, so basically it's a relationship-based story and it's completely unlike any of my other stories. Usually mine are all suspense-ish (yeah.. that's a word) or completely off the wall (pshhh... Phantom of the Opera... that's all I've got to say...LOL) so I can't WAIT to write this one. It will be a multi-chap for sure, I'm just not sure how long it will be. Gosh have I mentioned I can't wait?

I swear... I'm addicted to fanfiction. I don't even know what it is about it, but it's like you can totally get lost in it. Wellll that's totally cliche, but still! It's funny because I always write my best stuff when I'm super stressed out with school, and then when I actually have TIME to be writing for fun, I just sit around reading other people's stuff, eating fro-yo, and listening to Rent. Sheesh.... good thing I have my priorities straight...

OOH! And over the weekend I got some more tropical fish for my ever-growing aquarium. I don't know what I like so much about them, but it's sooo peaceful to just watch them swim around. Anyway, so I got three more of those little dudes, and then I also got a red Betta fish. So Betta fish are crazy territorial and they have the potential to rip all of the other fish to shreds so they have to have their own tiny aquarium. My little betta is reddish-pink and I named her Rosie as a shout-out to my other little identity that i have going on... hahaha... so now Rosie is real! And she's staring at me right now... oooh with those creepy eyes...

dear lord, I'm talking to a fish.

Have a good night!! :) :)

Rainy Friday!

  • Oct. 19th, 2007 at 7:13 PM

Woooo Friday!

I just got home from my brother's 4 hour football game! It was absolutely amazing, and they beat the other team 21 - 0!! Awesome! It was absolutely POURING rain and at one point it was raining so hard that my cheap little umbrella started to tear a bit! So anyway, I'm soaking wet right now but slowly thawing. It was an exceptional game though - definitely one for the books!

I slept for a solid 7 hours last night which was amaaaaazing! This past month has been brutal, so I decided that I would just go to bed even though my work wasn't done. It was definitely a solid decision! I have the whole weekend to work, so I think I might do the same thing tonight... *slacker..*....

Soooo... you wanna hear a funny story? Or, I guess, read a funny story. So the other day I went over to my best friend's apartment just to visit her and have some tea (read: procrastinate). So she and I are pretty much obsessed with the musical "Rent" so naturally we were playing the soundtrack. The song "Light My Candle" came on and then, without even planning it, we decided that we'd completely reinact the scene! I have a high squeaky voice so I'm Mimi, and she has this really low voice so she wanted to be Roger. Anyway, it was absolutely hysterical!! We got really in to it and were basically dying of laughter. So the best part was, her camera can take video so we RECORDED it! ahahaha! Oh we're just soooo cool! It's TOTALLY Youtube worthy, but I think if she ever found out I put it up she'd slaughter me. Seeeeriously!

Aiiight, well I think I'm going to go watch Grey's anatomy! I had to record it last night because I didn't get home until late. Soooo pumped to see what happens!! I heard the episode is amazing!

"Would you light my caaaaaaandleeeeee? Oh won't you light my caaaaaandle....?" LOL!!

xo!

Sleepy!

  • Oct. 18th, 2007 at 2:14 AM

Whew! I just finished a report that's due tomorrow -- haha I started it like 3 hours ago, so my timing couldn't be better! It's now just after 2am, so I'm going to print it off and then get some lovely sleep! I'm partially convinced that my printer is possessed by the devil himself... everytime I plug it into my laptop it gives me all of these wonky messages that I don't understand. I really hope it works this time!

Tonight I got to talk to willi, a2b, ana, and loony on the phone which was a BLAST! It's so awesome speak in real life after spending so much time chatting away online! I hope we all get to meet in real life someday - that would be fantastic!

I'm sooo behind in my updates! I have 2 papers to do this weekend, but I'm thinking that since I'll be spending so freaking long on my computer I'll hopefully be able to write a chapter or two. I'll consider it my break... ;)

Well, I'm off to investigate my wonky printer and hopefully get some sleep!

(aren't you proud that I actually updated? See, I'm taking this seriously! haha)

xo Gooooodnight :)

What a Day!

  • Oct. 16th, 2007 at 8:28 PM

Well I think this whole LJ thing is very cool! a2b and Willi say that they're going to try to post everyday, so I think I'm going to jump onboard that idea too! It's like a diary, only it doesn't take as long to get it all down!

Ohhh today was such a long day! Tuesdays are always the worst, and usually I have Bones to look forward to - not tonight though! Dang baseball... *shakes fist*.... but it's a good day to have over with. I went to the library to work on some chem with a friend tonight, and then somehow we ended up at Starbucks - go team time management! haha! It was nice to just relax for a bit though. I'm pretty much swamped until Oct31st -- after that it's home free!! Woohoo! Which means that Hallowe'en is going to rock Booth's socks this year. Clearly!

My 3 hr chem lab was cancelled tomorrow (*hallelujah chorus*) so I get to come home a bit earlier!! This is massively exciting! I might even get to do some writing! Today I had an hour off so I sat outside on a bench and wrote half a chapter for "Connection". I really want the chapter to be perfect though, so it probably won't be until the weekend before I post it. Gaaah and then there's ALIA... I feel so bad that there are always huge gaps in between, and I honestly don't mean to do it. I was thinking about ending it about a month ago and just wrap it all up, but I feel like I want to do it right even if it takes more time. Once my papers are all finished, I think I'm going to take like 3 days and just do a marathon... it will be sooooo much fun! Oh my goodness if fanfic paid, I would have found my dream job. I love it! But sadly it doesn't!

I read this really, really hilarious book over the weekend. It was called "Accidental It Girl" by Libby Street. It's TOTAL chick-lit and a really easy read, but it was just soooo wonderful! I found it accidently while researching for a paper... dear lordie I have issues keeping focus!!! Hahaha oh well...

So I know that I should be working right now, but, knowing me, I decided to open up iTunes and play around for a bit. Then I decided to myself "Hey, wouldn't it be super cool to make a top ten hits of today list?" (laugh it up)

I'm completely hooked on my music, and my favourite songs differ from day to day... here's a sample of today's faves...

1. Delicate - Damien Rice
Willi introduced me to this one with one of her super-amazing songfics... and now I'm seriously in love with the song!
2. Blackbird - The Beatles - (but today I really like the version by Evan Rachel Wood, who is in the upcoming movie "Across the Universe". It looks really, really good!)
3. Your Eyes - Rent
The song that Adam Pascal (Roger) sings in the end... siiiiigh... oh how I love that whole show! My friend Jess and I are completely and utterly obsessed with it...
4. Black Balloon - GooGoo Dolls
A classic! My friend has already picked this as her wedding song... I think it's adorable
5. Mexico - Jump, Little Children
I just love this song for some reason! It reminds me of the summer, and I love that guy's voice...
6. Pictures of You - The Last Goodnight
I went on a little mini roadtrip with a friend a couple of weeks ago, and we blasted this one in the car the whole way there - it's really good!
7. I'm a Bitch - Meredith Brooks
I LOVE this song!!!!! Oh it's just so perfect! hahaha
8. White Cliffs of Dover - Vera Lynn
Ummm this song is like from the 1940s - I loooove old music, and this one is a classic. I went to the Cliffs of Dover this summer and this is all I could think of!
9. I'll Be Seeing You - Frank Sinatra
Another oldie!! I love ol' blue eyes... ;)
10. Dream a Little Dream of Me - Michael Buble
I'm Michael Buble's secret lover. I'm not sure if you were aware of this fact.
Ok.. not really. But I seriously, seriously love him. ;)

Dangit that only used up 15 minutes... back to work for me!!

Haven't Been Here in a While...

  • Oct. 15th, 2007 at 6:37 PM

Wow, I definitely haven't been here in a long time! I was just fooling around with the different layouts, and I really like this one...

School has been absolutely hectic the past few weeks, so unfortunately I haven't been online very much :(. I'm up to my head in labs and term papers, but as of today I have no more midterms. Woohoo! I'm completely stuck on two papers that I have to do though... and it's odd because after getting through a paragraph or two all I want to go do is write more fanfiction. Gaaaah I'm a dork... but I love it!

The display picture that I'm showing right now is from the rose garden at the place where I did my studying abroad in England this summer! The gardens were absolutely magnificent, and the roses were especially astounding. Haha it's weird because roses were never like my favourite flower or anything, but now whenever I see them I'm reminded of fanfic. Again... what a dork... LOL

Siiiiigh.... well, I'm going to go give my essay a try again. (Read: I'm going to go write more chapters and pretend to work!!)

First Entry!

Oooh LiveJournal!

Quite honestly, I really have no idea how to work this site... I'm still trying to figure out how everything works! I'd love to get this up and running as soon as possible, so here's hoping! * crosses fingers*
I'm a little technologically challenged... this could take a while... ;)
